Donald A. McInnes

(Western District) Born at Laggan, Inverness-shire, 14th August 1838, the son of Alexander Mclnnes and Anne McDonald; dismissed, 2nd January 1859, but admitted to St.-Sulpice, 1862, and ordained a priest by Bp. Gray, 29th December 1864; was in Glasgow, then at Bracara, N. Morar, until 1874.

Report of the ordination of Donald A. McInnes in the Scottish Catholic Directory of 1866.

The Rev. Donald A. Macinnes was born in the Parish of Laggan, Inverness-shire, on the 14th August 1838, and admitted into Blairs College 2d August 1853. Thence he was sent, on 10th July 1854, to the Scots College of Valladolid. He was admitted into the Seminary of St Sulpice, Paris, in 1862. He received the Tonsure, 19th December 1863, from Mgr. Darboy, Archbishop of Paris; Minor Orders, 21st May 1864, from Mgr. Trioche, Archbishop of Babylon; and the Order of Subdeacon, 17th December 1864,. from Mgr. Massaja, V.A. of Galla, in Africa. He was promoted to the Order of Deacon, and afterwards to the Priesthood, on the 29th December 1864, by the Right Rev. Dr Gray, of Glasgow. After supplying for some months at Port-Glasgow, he was attached to St Patrick’s Church, Glasgow.
